And I have the added benefit of using up the pages in the altered journal TWICE! I'm using the book as a daily journal to jot down any thoughts I have. Then going back and creating art over them and using it as a journal to record my life. This is fantastic! One of the first videos Effy shared mentioned "Mail Art" which is something I hadn't heard of before but liked the idea of immediately. I brought up the idea on the blissfully_art_journaling egroup and the beautiful and talented Shay from Australia shared that there is so much more to it than what I had imagined. The group has gone crazy in the last 24 hours swapping addresses so everyone can send each other mail art. Pretty cool. I created 7 pieces last night that are now heading to the four corners of the earth, including Australia and The Netherlands. Pretty neat!
A couple of the pieces were random/fun "mail art" in the truest sense. But the bulk of them were inspired by the dialogue from the 2010 Alice in Wonderland movie. I hope everyone likes them. Here is an example of one:
And to take it one step further, I have offered to send some to family and friends as well. Excited that a couple of them have already taken me up on my offer. What a fun way to get my art into the world. Will be exciting to see where this all leads.
I love MAIL ART! I always have a huge smile on my face when I open the mailbox and find some awesome mail art created just for ME! It's awesome! I really love your butterfly up top. I belong to blissfully art journaling but haven't participated in a long time.
