Artist Date: You've Got a Friend in Me!

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting Rhonda (a fellow artist I met online) in person.  Turns out we live just a few minutes from each other.  We had an instant connection and we talked for 3 hours non-stop.  I suspect we could have easily talked for 3 days.  What a great excuse to get up early and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.  Looking forward to many more artist dates with my new friend.

Have you been on an artist date lately?  Have you spent time with someone who shares your passion for art?  If you haven't lately (or ever before), you might want to give it a try.  It filled my art cup to overflowing and I had tremendous energy for the rest of the weekend.  I spent many hours in my art studio, continued to learn all I can about art shows and festivals (for an upcoming show I plan to participate in) and started working on my Etsy shop (anticipate launching it at the end of April).  It was a FANTASTIC weekend indeed!  Can't wait for the next one!

Over the weekend I created two pieces, inspired by my sister (a music teacher).  I will be exploring artwork that could be reproduced as prints for the classroom.  I am hopeful that something I've created might inspire a child.  These are 8.5x11 mixed media on recycled cardstock.  They were fun to make and I'm itching to get into my art studio and make more.  What do you think?

  1. Great to meet you too Felicia! Had fun!!!
And I love the idea of the classroom posters -- we all have the sort of boring motivational ones... yours explode color and good ideas, great idea!

    1. Kay, that is great! I'm glad to hear it. Rhonda and I met again this past weekend for breakfast and I think we could have talked non-stop all day. Hope you are enjoying your new art pal!
